Like, sleeping is so damn nice, but I always have a hard time actually conking out

What are some good ways to actually get some Z's?

I'm no expert but how often/intense do you workout? Do you smoke or drink caffeine?

What's your schedule like? Are you able to go to sleep at the same time every night so that your body gets used to a routine?

I do intermediate cardio (jogging or using an elliptical) for about an hour every day

I don't smoke, but I do have a cup of chai tea most days in the early afternoon

I do try and go to bed on a regular schedule, but sometimes I get tired fairly early (like 6pm) and other nights not until 2am or later

Hmm, well that's a good amount of exercise. Though if you're up for it you could try adding in weightlifting, or calisthenics if you're not able to get a set of dumbbells or access to a gym. I find that weightlifting tires me out in a different way than cardio does. Not saying that you need to necessarily add it in on top of the cardio. You could reduce cardio to about 30 mins and add in 30 mins of strength training. See if that changes anything. There's a ton you could do with just your body weight. If you could get a pull-up bar, a resistance band and/or a set of dumbbells you'd have a ton of different exercises to choose from. Just an option to consider.

But yea, I'm not too sure of the caffeine content of chai tea, but that could be affecting your sleep too. If you don't have any coffee though, that's good. I know that coffee affected me a lot. I tried to only drink it in the morning but it still kept me up at night.
