Wondering how many people here like growing shit. it's great, been doing it for a couple years now. Started with a few outdoor weed plants sometime after CA got legal and i just kept potting more and more stuff. Herbs are so easy, so long as you water them often and know how much sun they need. We had a big heatwave here last year and I moved a few inside but the bigger crop got annihilated, like burnt to crisp bad. Going to keep those ones near a fan inside this summer. I dig it more than I thought I would though. I got some tomatoes, green onions, a few hot peppers, random herbs, and a small lemon tree now. All super easy to take care of, highly recommend it.

Got any tips for growing weed outside? I'm in a nice desert climate, and my plant seems to be doing alright so far. I've got in in half a milk carton with a boba straw that drains into the rose bush below.

Also what's your most interesting plant?

also future tip for when you're nearing or harvesting is taking off some of the leaves before fully drying. It will speed up the trimming process a lot. Get a small handheld microscope when it's near harvest time and look at the color of the hairs, you can overripen them and loose some THC when you do, you want to get it when it looks very crystally, once they start changing to a more orange color they're definitely ready. It's a bit tricky in a way but i bet you can find some reference pics that will explain it better than i can describe.

our climates are pretty different but honestly i just saw how easy it was cause i got a family member who has been growing for awhile and used seeds from him. for me i only had to water every other day, you don't want to overwater them. But that really is probably different for a climate like that, i really don't know! you may need to water them a lot more because of how fast stuff can dry out. Basically put them in the place with the most amount of sun per day, might have to spend a couple days really keeping an eye on where sunlight first hits and stays the longest, you really do need sun the most for outdoor. There really isn't much else to say, I didn't even buy much soil for it, just one bag, some people go ham on it and get a bunch of bags, but I checked the roots when i harvested and they only reached about 4 feet. I don't honestly need that much but you give them a ton of nutrients it helps, I've seen some massive plants before, over 6 feet and thick as fuck, but they all were being given nuts and had a ton of quality soil.

I will say though idk how wet it gets near you during harvest season, but the biggest struggle is avoiding mold. I didn't have an issue but in slightly wetter climates, morning dew can cause some really bad mold, so if it gets really cold and moist in the mornings for you, you should shake them in the morning or even take a leaf blower to try them before it dries on the leaves. cannabis is insanely resilient plant though, it's hard to fuck up unless you don't pay attention to leavess changing yellow/brown or you get too much moisture near the buds and small leafs. Or bugs too i guess.
