    Just a casual reminder that while the US are clearly financing nazis, the russians are not in the right either, and are very likely composed of just as many fash scum. There are no good guys here.

        My problem is with Russia to be fair. They are basically using this for their own gain, so the separatists are going to get shafted anyway, regardless of how this goes.

        Even more bigoted is this statement by the deputy minister for political affairs of the so-called DNR: “A culture of homosexuality is spreading... This is why we must kill anyone who is involved in this.”

        If this is inaccurate I apologize, I can't read Russian to verify this myself.

          Yes this is a problem, but it's absolutely liberal propaganda. The entire bit they're doing is to claim Ukraine is somehow liberal while these territories are lgbt-phobic because they're out of Ukraine's control, this is absolutely fucking false. The fascists that control Ukraine are much, much worse.

          Generally speaking eastern europe all has an lgbt problem. This is not really related to the separatism and the fascists as well as Europe are trying to abuse people's mistaken belief that Ukraine is politically similar to Europe to mislead people on these issues.

            Plenty. Incredibly reactionary and nationalistic ideology is really, really spread in Eastern Europe, Russia included, to the point its incredibly commonplace. And Russia is indeed pushing for it. Neolibs screeching about russians and Putin arent completely wrong. But they do completely overestimate by a large margin the influence of Kremlin outside of Eastern Europe.
