Is this going by current state of things or possible state of things and from which country?

Like in Germany, there basically isn't any lone houses on the prairie type of of living due to a combination of laws and population size so the only material difference between living in a village in the country as compared to some suburb (in general) is that you absolutely have to take your car to do literally anything and also to do the racism more, you'll have the neighbours either way and don't really get to own 10 acres of land you can just fuck around on.

And even through years and years of chud influence that goes farenough there is sizeable cowboy-aesthetic LARP going on and some people fly the fucking confederate flag in their gardens that's never really been changed and the only folks mad about it are turbolibertarian "why can't I erect a toxic waste disposal site on MY PROPERTY?" types

You get one of those folks per district of suburb or allotment garden community.

As a constant, too. Doesn't scale with with population size within the given community or anything, there's always one

Current or possible, unless you redefine 'city' so drastically as to not really be a city anymore. Ultradensely populated areas with hugely limited personal space are never gonna vibe for some folks as far as long term living, myself included.
