The California high speed rail project started in like 2009 and the first section (Merced to Bakersfield, oh boy) is currently projected to run in 2030, and LA and San Francisco won't be connected until 2033. That's current projections, no way that doesn't get delayed. So you're talking nearly TWENTY FIVE YEARS to complete one full HSR line, the only one in the country. How fast could China get that done?
