This season I've started Season 2 of Megalo Box and Zombieland Saga. Other than that I'm watching the Monogatari series with a friend, we are currently on Nisemonogatari
I've been watching Kino's Journey. It's pretty good so far. Makes me want to travel.
This season:
Fumetsu no Anata e | To Your Eternity
Intend to watch, haven't started yet. Hopefully good.
Sentouin, Hakenshimasu! | Combatants Will Be Dispatched!
Definitely problematic edgy stuff. It has the same author as konosuba though which I enjoy some of the comedy in. Episode one is all booby jokes, hopefully that stops else it's going to be a drop. Target audience - redditors.
Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san | Don't Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro
Very high production value but comes off as abuse-porn. Extreme bullying situation. I'm hopeful that there's an arc, that the bully changes, that the show actually looks at the harm the bully causes to their victim and explores it. I suspect that it will not though and its target audience is redditors.
Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song
Episode 1 of this was fucking fantastic. Watch it. It opens with a machine uprising against humans over-exploiting them. Gives me big Madoka feelings, I suspect a madoka-like story but with a cyber-future setting.
Megalobox 2: Nomad
Absolutely loved season 1. Loving the change of tone and pace of this so far. Very good start and the soundtrack is living up to s1.
Boku no Hero Academia 5 | My Hero Academia Season 5 [Ep 03 / Ep 91]
I like mainstream trash from time to time. This show treats its female characters like crap and that really annoys me.
Super Cub [Ep 01]
This is the comfiest nicest shit of the season. Pure SOL. Reminds me of Aria and Flying Witch a lot.
Zombie Land Saga: Revenge
Zombie idols are fun.
SSSS.DYNAZENON [Ep 01]
GO GO POWER RANGEERRRRRRS
Fruits Basket: The Final Season [Ep 01]
I love Fruits Basket
Yakunara Mug Cup mo | Let's Make a Mug Too
More comfy anime. I like it, sadly the episodes are only 15 minutes.
It has the same author as konosuba
I must watch this then
Gives me big Madoka feelings, I suspect a madoka-like story but with a cyber-future setting
I shall watch
Megalobox 2: Nomad
Agreed!! I'm really enjoying the second season and love the new tone and new characters.
I like mainstream trash from time to time. This show treats its female characters like crap and that really annoys me.
Jujutsu Kaisen had much better female characters if you want another mainstream action show to watch
Yeaaaah I liked the way Jujutsu treats them. In MHA I feel like the girls are basically like accessories. They're treated terribly, they're objects, they're never given stories, none of them are displayed as genuinely comparative or strong like the boys and all of them need saving by boys in almost any situation they enter.
That's without even getting into the way they're used for sketchy camera angles in every single appearance they make. Boys? HERO POSE. Girls? Sexy pose.
im watching KAGUYA-SAMA: LOVE IS WAR season 1, and its pretty good
after i pirate the 2° season i will probably read the manga, i almost never wait for the next season of shows
Rewatching Kara no Kyoukai since my brother sent me his crunchyroll login and I'm a sucker for Fate adjacent anime (all the Grand Order whatever's are next in line). Gave jujutsu kaisen a try and enjoyed it much more than I thought I would, ended up finishing it over a few days. My Hero season has been okay but nothing special tbh
I'm thinkin' about maybe taking a peek at that new My Hero season that just dropped myself.
Ping Pong is one of my favorites!! I rewatched that last year
I've got to get back into Made In Abyss. I loved the first season when it came out but never looked into the movie or manga
yeah lemme know what kind of recommendations you want, like are you looking for a certain genre or something
Ayy just rewatched the Monogatari series recently. Problematic fave for sure. I like Madoka and 3-gatsu, but nothing has the same feel of it, with it's long dialogues with cool ass visuals.
Just watched Tian Guan Ci Fu for the first time, it was ok. Had some production issues and was otherwise not bad.
My sister and I just finished Shirobako, which was fun. I've seen it a couple times, it was her first time watching it. Saw the OVAs for the first time, which were the first episodes of the shows they made, which was neat.
Gonna watch Ghost in the Shell with my sister next.
I was thinking to make a thread like this. As far as new-streaming shows Vivy and Super Club are the only ones I'd check out. When Night Head 2041 starts I wanna' see that one because Night Head Genesis getting another anime was one of the last things I ever expected.
For non-new anime I want to rewatch Darkside Blues sometime soon. I've been thinking about that and I can't remember if it's good or not.
I'm enjoying it although I think I prefer the first season. I'm 2/3rds through Nisemonogatari
This season-
SSSS.Dynazenon - I loved Gridman, so I was eagerly awaiting this one. 2 episodes in and hell yes, I'm pretty sure I won't be disappointed.
Godzilla Singular Point - The Netflix trailer kinda gives it away, but I've been waiting for someone to take Godzilla and use him as a metaphor for the existential crisis of climate change. Monsterverse version kinda flirted with the idea, but this take being heavily influenced by Anno's Shin Godzilla while maintaining it's own distinct visual style seems to hit a lot closer to what I was looking for. They got an actual sci-fi author to pen the script so I have high hopes, hopefully this gets out of Netflix jail soon cos it'll be a damn shame if people sleep on this.
Also watchy My Hero Aca but eh seems kinda disappointing so far.
