I am sure the TX and FL governors will be responsible and award those seats to their growing urban populations.

For those who don't know, this cursed country can legally only have 435 House Reps. So when Montana gains a seat, it has to come from California or NY or one of the other populous states. And this will also effect the Electoral college by the same number of votes.

Love to have my government designed around the interests of not even the bourgeoisie as a whole, but the rural bourgeoisie of late 1700's America with no regard for any changes that might happen to the country

We have, if anything, gotten worse than being run by slave owners. The point of the constitution was to be open to change and demographic shift. Yeah, still only for white men from western europe with property, but even so it was more dynamic then than it is now. I can't believe we have gotten to the point where we are backsliding from people who raped their slaves.

Hey, even the power of the slaveocrats seemed unassailable into the 1850s. It took a sharp and sudden crisis to overcome that social order. Something appears fixed until the contradictions accumulate, and then boom! Things can't last like this, but there's no guarantee that what comes next will be better.

I know this isn't a permanent state, I am just so utterly at a loss for how people have allowed things to get this bad. The amount of well-enough off people that had to fight their interests.

Well I guess you'll just have to :vote: twice as hard then. Wish democrats would do something, but they have using power almost as much as they hate the poor

I can't wait for Vice President Kamala Harris to win the popular election by the largest margin in history... only to lose the electoral college. But hey, California and NY and Illinois will know who their real president is.

I don't think Kamala is going from not winning a single delegate to winning an election by the largest margin in history, just being honest

That's not even like a constitutional thing. Congress set that limit in 1929. They could change it at any point. The DC statehood bill actually has a clause permanently changing it to 436 instead of redistributing the existing 435 like was done for Alaska and Hawaii.

I guarantee you Gus Bilirakis will consume Clearwater in the redistricting.
