Time for the already miniscule left vote to split EVEN FURTHER
unfathomable how anyone could live through 2016 and 2020 and still believe in electoralism at the national level
If we don't vote for Biden they'll restart student loan payments, covid relief will end, the right to abortion could be taken away, labor and environmental movements will be repressed and a bunch of anti Trans bills could get passed.
i already started hearing those murmurs
this time next year they'll be loud as bombs
All the insufferable nerds on r/politics screaming "she is literally paid by Putler nooo" right now, I can hear it lmfao
I know the Green Party is kind of the loser-dork party, but at least their values are closest to my own. It's a shame they get like single digit percentage of votes, but I wouldn't feel bad if a US Green Party won an election anywhere. I'm sure they would be annihilated or assimilated by political machine, but yeah I could rock with a green party candidate.
I dont know how close the two parties are hut I voted for the German green party. I have never been more ashamed.
Aren't they the ones that shut down the nuclear plants and replaced them with steel behemoths that eat wind farms and shit out coal.
Man they're the ones who chose the foreign affairs minister. I legit voted for this woman to succeed Merkel like the lib that I was.
greens in the US are a joke compared to similar parties in europe. this whole continent is bought and paid for by the oil industry, the most green you can be in establishment politics is advocating subsidies for car companies that develop a hybrid vehicle.
at least their values are closest to my own
Eh. They were under Nader. Now I don't know what the Greens stand for anymore. Certainly, there isn't any active organization in my home town of Houston. And as to their activism... I'd vote for the "Food Not Bombs" Party before the Greens, any day.
They were under Nader. Now I don't know what the Greens stand for anymore.
Fair point. I guess I'd just be happy with any non-"Covertly or Overtly Reactionary party" at this point.
I said I'd do it again and I get to vote for Jill Stien to just piss off the libs again
The green party does have local office holders. The party needs to run a presidential candidate to maintain ballot access. The more the greens have prominence the better chance for more regional and local 3rd parties to win. A major barrier for the majority of people stuck in the D/R loop is thinking a 3rd party can not win.
running for 3rd party in the presidential election is such a waste of time. itd make way more sense to go for Congress or state legislatures. also her trying a third time is hilarious.
Probably a hot take, but her anti-vaxxer pandering was extremely cringe before COVID, and if she doesn't fully denounce any vaccine "skepticism" now, she needs to fuck off forever.
Since I live in a safely blue state I voted for her in 2016. No regrets, didn’t change a damn thing since, surprise surprise, my vote doesn’t matter cause I don’t live in a swing state.
The first picture I saw of Jill Stein was her with hands painted red, screaming in Condaleeza Rice's face. Always had a softspot for the lady, even if she is kind of a weirdo.
