    Two-round elections are weird, two parties that got less than 20% each get to be the two only options. Much better than the US or UK of course. And 18 candidates? It's cool though, and he has a real chance here with such a hated opponent

      I'm a nerd who will never stop shilling for ranked choice, but two-round is at least better than FPTP.

      of course the best system is

      a proletarian democracy where the communist party is massive and vets candidates to keep out the bourgeoisie, class traitors, and foreign interference.

        :100-com: with you on ranked choice. In my country it's a representative system where the parties form coalitions, negotiate to reach a majority and choose the prime minister after the elections. It's good but could definitely be improved with ranked choice, the parties need 4% to get representation at all and there's several parties close to that, would suck to have a vote go to waste. Also would let you vote communist first and the left party second :sicko-wistful:
