yea I never understood it. I know that she was here (in the UK) pre-98 because there are documents at work authored by her that go back to at least '93 as i recall.
i think she might have been referring to demonstrations, or rallies or something else - i have a vague recollection of some reference to student activism? i might be crossing my wires though 'cause communist-affiliated student groups existed in pretty much every country in the whole world
