I am not because I live in a pretty conservative area. So I try to get some leftist points through to coworkers without opening myself up to the ridicule of just being a “commy degenerate” in their eyes. So I think I can get through to them better without outting myself as a Marxist.

    I'm very fortunate to work for a partially family-owned retail business, so I've got a kind of captive audience. I am pretty sure the two owners know I'm a communist, even though I can't specifically remember mentioning it. During the first height of COVID when we were closed to the public and it became more and more clear that capitalism was obviously not capable of effectively responding to a crisis, they were very receptive, and by the time the Third Precinct building in Minneapolis was torched they were cheering right along with me.
