This is good journalism (the pic I mean, not the commentary of course). I guarantee you the photographer knew exactly what he was doing and they probably worked with the editor to create something without having to use words. They can't openly mock this guy or point out the obvious - that this is a manchild and we probably should take his "concerns" with a grain of salt. But they can set things up to where it's pretty easy to draw your own conclusions on this.

Not that I want to defend journalists at all, but I would get annoyed with libs who say "grrrr why don't these journalists call Trump a LIAR". Well because a good journalist will lay out all the pieces but they're not going to hold your hand and tell you what to think about them.

Yeah and look how well that has worked for an uninformed and (purposely kept) ignorant populace.

This is like when people say satire is effective critique of toxic masculinity or Capitalism, and then people praise and identify with Tyler Durden and cheer for the humans in Starship Troopers.

Maybe journalists should take a hard line and be explicit instead of pretending to be impartial.

Plenty of lib journalists do pretend to be impartial sure, and that's annoying. But there is actually journalistic skill in letting people make connections themselves, which I feel is pretty effective in getting to think about something differently.
