I watched the whole Netflix Cowboy Bebop and I don't think I can stomach this lmao.
This show looks like a local Japanese production, they’ve been doing live action anime adaptations for a while now (like FMA and Rurouni Kenshin).
The actors tend to lay it on really thick in these and just go for the scenery chewing camp (influenced by tokusatsu and Takashi Mike yakuza action movies) - if it’s too self-serious it basically becomes unwatchable tho. Imma wait for reviews first I guess
As a kid I got into YuYu Hakusho, and eventually went back as an adult and rewatched a lot of it. It was wild to me how little attention it got from my friend group, who all enjoyed anime but had never heard of this.
I'll watch it to see if it's any good, but I won't hold my breath. I did enjoy the FMA live action though, so maybe there is hope.
Is this actually a Netflix-led production like One Piece and Cowboy Bebop or are they just distributing a japanese live-action production like FMA?
I think it’s the latter, maybe Netflix bankrolled it for an exclusive rights deal or something
