      I mean, 18 is the assumed "adult" age where someone presumably has enough mental and emotional maturity to make their own big kid decisions except drink, so it's only consistent. Kind of messed up how we're expected to take on debt and chart out our careers at 18-19 but that's another topic entirely.

      countries are making the law more specific, so like AOC is 14 if you are under the age of 18 and stuff like that

      A bit low (I'd put it at older than 16 and under 18) but I don't really see an issue with the idea. Amongst each other, teens will be teens and Sex-Ed has only been getting better in spite of Cons clutching their pearls. The average age for both genders in the states losing their virginity is 17ish, so it's silly to make it a flat age for everyone regardless of the people involved.
