At least for the most part it's 18 with 16 only being allowed with a 2 year gap. Not as bad as

      :france-cool:

France is so fucked up it not only has normal QAnon, it also has reverse QAnon where the rich and powerful are the ones being groomed by pedophiles.

      Most countries are worse

I met this british chick once who used to get fucked by a middle aged spanish fellow every summer and she found nothing wrong with that

I mean, 18 is the assumed "adult" age where someone presumably has enough mental and emotional maturity to make their own big kid decisions except drink, so it's only consistent. Kind of messed up how we're expected to take on debt and chart out our careers at 18-19 but that's another topic entirely.

countries are making the law more specific, so like AOC is 14 if you are under the age of 18 and stuff like that

A bit low (I'd put it at older than 16 and under 18) but I don't really see an issue with the idea. Amongst each other, teens will be teens and Sex-Ed has only been getting better in spite of Cons clutching their pearls. The average age for both genders in the states losing their virginity is 17ish, so it's silly to make it a flat age for everyone regardless of the people involved.

I cannot wait for Matt Gaetz to go on Tucker Carlson and utter the sentence “well Tucker, in Europe this would be perfectly legal and I think this highlights the need for us to reform our outdated age of consent laws...” while Tucker Carlson looks on and nods understandingly.

LMAO holy shit, how did I miss that clip?

you’re absolutely dead on, when they think there’s even a slight chance they might go down for something they will try and drag anyone and everyone down with them because they never gave a fuck about anyone other than themselves to begin with.

Gotta latch lamprey-like onto someone else such that your survival and their survival are inextricably intertwined and they effectively have to fight for you.

it's a pretty good bet if you think he's gonna do it, Friday afternoon is when you release stuff to minimize press coverage

I put the money down but chickened out and sold it right away, I don't think he'll resign tomorrow. There's a much safer bet, bet "no" to him being on judiciary committee as of Sept 1. Of course it's much lower reward but it seems like a sure thing.

Uh damn from the article it looks like Roger Stone could be looking at more prison time too. Accepting 250K Bitcoin for a pardon doesn’t seem like something you can just say without it being bribe solicitation?

I'm not even remotely surprised, I have zero expectations of meaningful consequences for people in power, and I have every expectation that the media fervor with which they cover this and Roger Stone's role will be directly proportional to how many even worse things are going on (more bad things = more coverage of this).
