I could sorta deal with Chainsaw Man; but what's the fucking deal with Fire Punch?

Ok bonk me if you will but I enjoy the fuck out of both of these, they're exactly the type of batshit insane stuff I love. Fujimoto is an edgy fuck but I found the problematic aspects of both series to be handled suprisingly well by Japan standards. In Fire Punch's defense, well, obviously Fujimoto might have went to far into all the CW's like rape, pedophilia, bestiality, murder, cannibalism, etc. seeing as it takes place in a hopeless apocalyptic wasteland, but they are clearly shown as morally abhorrent, they ARE meant to gross you out, so that you feel even more satisfied when the people perpetrating them literally get punched into ash. Moreover, I'm surprised this is 4chan's favorite manga, because it has a canonically trans character portrayed as serious as possible and a literal militant feminist group toward the end lmao. The way the author portrays female characters and sexuality in general is a breath of fresh air compared to every other manga, since women obviously exist as more that objects for male characters to exploit and every implied or overt sexuality is not meant to be titillating for the audience so the 13 year olds reading can jack off, and instead feels much more intimate and genuine. The closest it comes to the typical ecchi shit is Denji being a horny bitch, but even that is magnitudes better than your typical shounen trash in that it's played off as a negative trait of Denji rather than as a "haha funny molestation" gag you would find elsewhere, and it's a weakness that he as a coombrained immature 16-year old actively gets exploited through by an older woman. As he matures as a character he manages to reform his childish sexuality into healthy beliefs about women and grow up, something you don't see too often in similar manga. Ok, I'm a bit of a fanboy for both of these manga, but in an age where every single anime/manga is the same shit repeated over and over I think it's clear why Fire Punch and Chainsaw Man stand out so much to me in literally every aspect. Especially Fire Punch, god damn I don't think I've ever read anything like it in any medium.

I gotta say after the gross first dozen chapters, the book gets really good.

Denji I kinda understood cause the kid is basically a homeless mess with zero self-esteem and he grows into a fighter and also learns to love and respect himself because others find him worthy of love. But Agni and his sister were kinda gross at first and still kinda are by the end of it, even if he writes his way out of it by making judah/luna.
