This video is good as fuck if you like long-ass video essays about videogames and shit.
Kotor 2 was good shit. Shame it got shitcanned before it got finished properly.
Yeah, I always wondered about why the ending felt kinda stiff compared with how goddamn good the rest was, it sucks to learn there wasn't the proper time and support. I can't fully relate, obviously, but it sucks to think of how much fucking effort goes into any game just for executive bullshit to sabotage so much.
Sadly I never finished kotor because I had to reformat my xbox and lost my save (I had no clue about how to backup my save file and I couldn't be bothered to start from scratch) but years later I can look back and see how the character creation system was built and see exactly why I loved it so much: it's modeled after DnD 3e/3.5e system. I LOVED 3e/3.5e, and honestly I'm not strictly against going back and playing it again, but I have other games I want to finish right now and it's oldness (PC) is having some jarring effects (for example I keep staying stuck in combat mode for a short while after every fight and it's frustrating trying to end it).
Honestly though, when I tried making a character again and realized it's based on my favorite DnD edition, I felt almost ready to just bear through all the problems. I really do love that edition to bits, and your ability to make your character from scratch is beautiful.
