I think they already did link them in the minds of masses, so fighting symbolism is largely pointless, and looks a lot sus, considering history and all

I think it's more of the Israeli flag and the identity of the average Jew are linked to the same symbol. So if you use that symbol to try to criticize Israel you come dangerously close to criticizing the identity of the average Jew.

All of that is definitely understandable but it sure is whack that’s the situation bc zionists already try to frame every criticism of Israel as being anti Semitic. I’m sure they knew exactly what they were doing with the flag tho it obv makes sense they’d use the symbol anyway, even outside of opportunistic strategic blocking of criticism, but it’s a win-win for them

You can still criticize Israel, just don't use the flag to do so. Having the star of David on the Israeli flag doesn't stop criticism.

I’m not saying you can’t it’s just kind of like almost a visual representation how they weaponize legitimate grievances about the unfair persecution of Jews to shut down that criticism

In the grand scheme of things you have to realize that it's a emoji of a flag on a website. We won't be adding the emoji, that decision doesn't have any wider meaning than "a burning star of David is antisemitic"

To be clear, I’m not defending or advocating for the use of the emoji, I’m merely lamenting the fact that zionists utilize Jewish history in bad faith and that Jews have been so ruthlessly persecuted that it’s sus to even say anything in the first place. I definitely understand where you guys are coming from on the decision
