Honestly though, isn't this kind of on the customer for agreeing to it in the first place?

Ok, what is it specifically that shouldn't be allowed here? Renting items? Setting prices higher than somebody else?

Shrug. The way I see it, they made major league purchases without the slightest market research. Why does that make them a victim, rather than just somebody with the financial wisdom of a 5 year old?

You're supposed to do your research on everything and there's no repercussions for the scammers because the victim should've known better. So, for example, if someone who doesn't know that much about phones sees that someone's selling an iPhone 15 Pro for $500, but they don't ever send the buyer a phone, that's on the buyer because they should've known that an iPhone 15 Pro would cost more than that. smuglord A very good practice to expect everyone to do meticulous research on every single thing instead of just punishing the scammers.

Also, holy shit, another poor shamer/victim blamer appeared in that thread. I guess it's true what that other Hexbear poster said in there, Australians are deeply poisoned by neoliberal ideology.
