For me, after watching Matilda, I always wanted telekinesis. I think the movie really resonated with me for other, more substantial reasons, but I remember as a kid wishing that one of my high-stress situations would let me get those powers.

Edit - Fun fact: I had a sibling who stopped believing in God because they prayed for Wolverine claws as a kid, but didn't get them.

    lol yeah you're right, I just remember being so angry as a kid that I was coming up with these great jokes and no one ever got them

      yup i had a joke book too that was very cringe later in life to read but it kinda reminded me that at one point, i really just only wanted to make people laugh (including myself) which is a thing i can honestly say i love about myself. really did help me out when i was going through a massive depressive spell later in life. i still even feel insecure saying something like that about myself but tbh it's important to find those things you can love yourself for
