Find me a more tedious, difficult, and anxiety-inducing zone I dare you. Labyrinth Zone defenders I will fight you.
Having replayed all the genesus sonics recently this zone is nowhere near as bad as my memories make it out.
Now the final boss in sonic 2 thats the true bullshit
Final boss of Sonic 2 I couldn't beat without watching a youtube tutorial. The difficulty spike of that final boss is some 0-100 type shit.
I used to be able to get to the boss on one life in one go, and then I’d proceed to die over and over to that boss until I used up all my lives and continues. Then I’d start over and do the same thing again. I think I’ve only beaten it like twice.
Labyrinth Zone has groovy music tho.
The worst 2D Sonic Zone is all of Sonic 4
It's a slight improvement over episode 1 (especially visually) but it's mostly the same.
i haven't played it much either, but i recall hearing good reviews about it than sonic 4 ep 1
When the "no new changes or additions ever, old thing was perfect" purists get exactly what they want, that's NOOOO GOOD.
infinite water slides until you figure out when to jump to escape the infinite water slide loop
also sometimes drowning
I HATE WATER LEVELS
I HATE WATER LEVELS
spoiler
The drowning timer music is very memorable, that said.
The problem is how repetitive the not fun parts are. People shit on Marble Zone but at least it had some interesting variety in obstacles to make up for the slow parts. Labyrinth Zone just sucks.
Makes game about going fast.
Includes a slow, underwater maze level.
Eggman himself couldn't come up with better torture for Sonic.
Haha the level is great but its a meme to get stuck on this spinny thing not realizing it can be controlled with up and down buttons
I literally called the sega helpline back in the day over Carnival Night Zone Act 2. I was baby and didn't understand you could move the fucko drum with the up and down when it told me that it was such an A-HA moment, went on to loving Launch Base Zone.
this thing stopped me from beating sonic 3 as a kid
only when i grew up i found out that you can use the up and down arrow to move it
...
who thought this was this a good idea?
Due to already being a teen I actually enjoyed Labyrinth Zone. Had to use a map for Sky Canyon as a kid though(Sonic Advance fans rise up).
Sky canyon
"Hey let's have a level where you're required to use a move that up to that point was optional and only explained in the manual
There are at least a few zones in Sonic Rush that apply, the pyramid and sky rail stages...
