If I heard anyone say this, even if they were the staunchest lefty, I would stare at them in disgust. How on Earth could you not only wish Sexual Assault on someone but want to expose their most vulnerable and traumatic moment of their life to a beloved family member??? This is what happens when you create an ideology that says you have a Good given right to the land and that everyone who was already living there should be considered non human and eradicated. I've thought a lot about your last point myself. So much of western culture seems designed to squeeze the empathy out of people. I'm not sure if adults can be re-taught basic empathy lessons they should've learned in pre-school.
I've come to the uncomfortable conclusion that if evil is the absence of empathy like the Nuremburg guy said...then our entire culture is designed to make us evil.
Generally, if you can learn it after the age of 5 and you don't have a clinical disability nor are on death's door, you can learn it at any other age.

Recognizing them as their own nations and affording them all the rights that follow from that is a good thing! If some organized Native American militia was doing terror attacks on Anglo-Americans, we could talk about what is a good or bad tactic, but fundamentally they are resisting colonization and US citizens have no grounds for complaining for as long as the Natives are kenneled in on constantly-shrinking reserves.
