How do you get your fellow kids to watch 433 minutes per week like the old folks do?...
At MSNBC, the median age this year has been 68, four years older than CNN, according to the latest data from Nielsen. That's up from a median age of 65 in 2017. Which makes it all the more noteworthy that MSNBC's newly appointed president is a 40-year-old "digital native" millennial named Rashida Jones.

MSNBC still commands an unusual devotion from its fans. During the first three months of 2021, committed MSNBC viewers watched the network for an average of 433 minutes per week, compared to 325 minutes for comparable Fox viewers and 291 minutes for CNN viewers, according to Nielsen data.
"We have audiences that will sit there and watch for hours and hours and hours," Jones said. "So, how do we get more people into that camp?"

The challenge, he said, is that “people start caring about news when they get older. People age into an interest in news.
Yes, that's why young people don't watch state propaganda, they just don't care about the news.

This is the stupidest statistic i’ve ever read
the medium age went up 3 years in the last 3 years.
This means that they aren't getting any new younger viewers. Since humans don't live forever, this is even worse, since some very old viewers died and the median age should just naturally stay close to where it was three years ago.

Because if there's one thing millenials love, it's a former Communications Director for W while they were pushing for one of the biggest war crimes in recent memory. She should be rotting in The Hague.
It doesn't matter at all but I'm actually curious how/when she got her MSNBC gig. I can't resist googling.
I was worried everyone’s favorite vaguely ethnic Parks and Rec actress was actually a reptillian
Just glad I wasn't the only confused person. But am even more confused to learn that the Rashida Jones of whom we were all thinking is apparently 45.

This is what you nerds do with twitch. Stop watching twitch please.
No one older than 25 is a digital native. Miss me with the gatekeeping call-out, there is not one single person over the age of 25 who couldn't remember a time before the Internet.
40 is not a millenial. but the fact that they think it is may have something to do with their median viewer age being 68
bro if you were old enough to have your teenage pregnancy in Clinton's first term you ain't no millennial
Dude if I watched even an hour of commercials in a week I'd probably just throw my TV out the window. That isn't the worst part about watching MSNBC either, it's so much fucking worse than commercials lmao
Alright, so old people leave the TV playing and usually don't even pay attention. Unsurprising, kinda sad they think it's a win.
