Not perfect by any means but, for superhero slop... Well, the nega-BlueBeetle guy was literally introduced as an anti-communist fighter trained by the School of the Americas.

And then at the end they very clearly lay the bad guy's suffering and creation at the feet of Reagan and the US.

interesting they also cast Susan Sarandon, one of the most vocally leftist Hollywood actors

lol, yeah I quite like her as a person so I had mix feelings about that, but she did a good job of making me dislike her character.

I was surprisingly quite happy with the way they made nega-BB redeemable and threw her on the pyre as imperialism's effigy. I worried they were gonna go too hard with the Talk-No-Jutsu but they took it in a good direction. Thought that was a good move on their part.

The island the Kord family bought from Batista off the coast of Cuba.

The biggest issue is that Jamie is just a nice guy. He’s the weakest part in terms of character. Or the fact the Kord BB is implied to have his wealth via deep exploitation.

That was about the point I seriously wondered if I was being dog-whistled to.😂

Yeah, it was far from perfect, just surprisingly good for it's genre. The whole good capitalist coming in to fix things at the end was pretty typical crap of this kind of slop too.

She spoke a line in Portuguese so you know she’s a good one.
