It's a person who thinks of themselves as "very bright" rationalizing why their opinions overlap with those of very dull people

It's because it only has around a 1% lethality rate, and these doofuses can't do the math on what 1% of the population is

"very bright" is the same as "Very dull" but with big "Swirlie me in a used toilet" vibes.

If “a very harmless virus” managed to kill half a million people in just America, I’d hate to see what they think a deadly virus is like

The vaccines do not prevent you from spreading the virus to others.
The fact that everybody is pretending they do is irrational groupthink.

vaccines still lessen illness and prevent deaths. But YOU CAN STILL TRANSMIT THE VIRUS WHILE VACCINATED, THIS IS A FACT. The fact that they're being marketed as "saving others lives", implying that they work like other vaccines, is criminal.

the cringe polcel in the image is still wrong though, obviously this is the worst virus since 1918, possibly even worse than that.

The MRNA vaccines do seem to lower transmission rates, but the data's still out on whether it lowers them to zero (though it seems unlikely). The amount of the virus present in samples from vaccinated people is lower than unvaxxed, meaning that they are less infectious when coughing/sneezing/etc. That said, it's almost impossible to determine just how effective they are, given that our track and trace is shit and the pandemic is very much still ongoing.

People should still be wearing masks and social distancing for a while because we don't know and it's better to assume the worst-case given the millions of dead, but it's more important to Biden et al that we go back to brunch.
