I mean I know Reddit is pretty bad in general save for a few subreddits, but what happened to this one? I can’t even ask for advice on false positive UA without some stuck up asshole saying I didn’t technically ask a legal question and deriding me.
Christ just help people
Giving out legal advice anonymously to people on the internet is actually really dangerous for everyone involved. The lawyer is likely violating the ethical rules of the place they practice in, and the "client" is likely receiving inadequate advice based on a poor explanation of the situation.
It's the same thing with how doctors don't tend to give out medical advice over the internet except "go see a doctor". A competent and well meaning lawyer should know that most clients are actually extremely bad at pinpointing what their own legal issues are, which is why lawyers conduct extensive client interviews and review documents before giving advice.
And yeah, if lawyers are in charitable moods they tend to work Pro Bono cases or volunteer at legal aid clinics.
Didn't know this, makes sense.
