    I have to say, my enthusiasm for many, many anime has been muted since becoming a commie. Japan is a very conservative country and it's reflected in their artistic output. At the same time, I enjoy the aesthetic, and these days I simply go with whatever is good, regardless of origin or medium, which I have found a far more successful way to find good shit then sticking with certain types of media.

      Many big anime creators especially older ones were leftists or just straight up marxists for a big part of their lives cause there is a whole generation of anime creators who were present and very influenced by the full of class struggle 60s in Japan and especially the student movement. In ways the anime industry has more prominent commie or revolutionary seeds in it than mainstream western tv and movies. Yeah the majority still sucks, most for social messaging ways but in general i dont find anime more hard to enjoy or get into compared to other mediums. Especially when there is an artistic genealogy of pretty based and left-ish creators and shows
