So I'm looking for work for a few months. there is a shop that I like and is hiring, but they are not looking for seasonal workers. Should I apply anyway and expect not to get the job, or just not apply? My thinking is that maybe no one else qualified applies, so I could have a shot, and I like to take every shot even if I might miss. I don't know if this is the correct attitude in this situation though.

This but don't give them the two weeks notice, just ghost them one day. I've done it with every job I've ever had.

They will do everything they can to fuck you if you put in a 2 weeks. They are also legally allowed to fire you in day one of the notice if they want (lots of employers do).

Ghosting gives them less time to sabotage you and also gets you a guaranteed paycheck up til you start your new job.

Only time you do a 2 weeks is off you need a reference or plan on coming back.

It might mean you dont get a good reference, but why not lie and say you will stay then just quit when you need to?

So you're saying you only will be able to work for them for a few months. Is this like a summer gig? Tough call in that case.
