I think that the period from about 2016 to 2020 will be regarded as when scores of podcasts, streams, YouTube channels or what have you that were defined by being against the status quo, vaguely left-wing and/or vocal supporters of Bernie Sanders when he ran for President came about.

A fair amount of these programs will be looked back on as being more right-wing than people initially thought or the people behind them will make a move to the right.

For some insanely bizarre reason I used to think Sam Seder was a leftist. I think because there were two genuine leftists on the show (well, as hosts, I think Matt is probably leftist).

He is smart about policy and political history but he is too succdem for me to ever watch him anymore without :michael-laugh:

RIP to a real one, seriously, it almost impossible for me to care about the show without him. Jamie is pretty cool but like she hardly gets to talk much. Also I CANNOT stand Noami even more than sam

Jamie left MR to focus on antifada, no reason to tune into it anymore.

I have tried to get into Anitifada because I enjoyed Jamie on MR, but let's just say I haven't had much success. They are so arrogant and constantly on about some left communist shit that was barely relevant when it was new.

I know same. He legit was my best daily source of following socialism and left movmenrts globally I'd probably not have heard about. He was just a rational and chill dude who was valuable.

BTW his 1 year anniversary is coming up, July 20th. I can hardly believe it. I normally don't care so much about youtubers/content creators but I just watched his show so much and really respected him it feels different

          I think Jamie left.

He is knowledgeable about policy. I think he reads a lot, he knows a lot of facts, but aligns himself very conservatively with a specific brand of progressive liberalism. He is also pretty good at debate, and I have no reason to deny that.

Mueller She Wrote is a very cringeworthy example of this.

I have heard of that program, but never listened to it.

If I had to guess, it is more of a liberal resistance show.

What I was more referring to was programs that had the pretense of being "anti-establishment".

Oh, I see. Yeah, the podcast I'm referring to was def #resistance, not trying to present as anti-establishment.

The thing that confused me for a long time, as a babby to political understanding, is that while a lot of these people are to the left of the American mainstream on some issues that does not make for a real Left ideology. Canada and Britain and France are to the left of America on some stuff, but none of them are good countries. Similarly, thinking the government should pay for college and healthcare does not a leftist make.
