good god video games are shit
Have they teamed up with Intel to implement the N-word slider in their newest releases?
Ubisoft sucks and they do sex crimes there. AAA bideogames as a whole seem shittier and shittier, like there are fewer and fewer titles to look forward to, probably because the game industry has made it a common practice to wring the life from their best devs and QA folks to the point that they burn out and either fuck off to the indie scene, or leave the game industry entirely.
Basically at this point if a game isn't indie or, like, from Capcom, I don't give a fuuuuuck.
just another part of late stage capitalism ruining everything
I got bad vibes from how they were so proud of themselves for respectfully researching and portraying a Nakoda woman and then turned around to having her be an "operator" in an imperialist murder sim.
Far Cry finally went mask-off, FC6 is straight-up about overthrowing communism. They brought Giancarlo Esposito on to explain how he based his performance for the evil communist dictator on Fidel Castro and Adolph Hitler. :agony-consuming:
Hey, it's an opportunity to hound dipshits about what they think life was like under Batista. "The wrestler? Whaaaaat?"
link pls, i thought it was about fighting fake batista then inevitably getting betrayed by eeeevul Raul Castro
He's a decent actor but Giancarlo Esposito seems like an insufferable dipshit, rambling on about the star signs of Hitler or whatever, even aside from his shitty politics.
Another person's comment: "Far Cry finally went mask-off, FC6 is straight-up about overthrowing communism. They brought Giancarlo Esposito on to explain how he based his performance for the evil communist dictator on Fidel Castro and Adolph Hitler."
Anything for Watch Dogs Legion? I’m so bored of the game and made the mistake of buying the season pass
You'll be able to play as Aiden Pearce or Wrench from the previous games. Sounds like it'll have a story component rather than just a new mode. Called Bloodline I think.
...suddenly thinking about how most of my favorite games are from the ps2 era, when I was a young teen...
Naw but for real, I do think there has been something outright lost from videogames as an art form since then. Too much capitalism has bloated the costs of these games so goddamn much, and demands such an absurd profit margin to determine if something is worth continuing, that modern games literally cannot afford to be too interesting or experimental.
Pretty much the only good/ interesting stuff is from the indie scene, but the harsh reality is that even if they're great games by great devs (sometimes ones that previously worked on big AAA titles and left to the indies to avoid being broken completely), they still suffer from lack of spotlight and lack of consistent funding for their projects.
Completely, and its not even just that AAA games can't afford to be interesting or experimental, they are actively made worse and worse by the insertion of mechanics that serve nothing by profit extraction. The one area that companies tend to innovate in now is monetization of their playerbase and its to the detriment of their games
One thing increasing the cost of games is how big you can make a game.
But also indie games a cool because a small team can accomplish more than they could decades ago
I'd have said you're right. But I don't think so, my young cousins (one specifically who's 12) only plays Minecraft and Fortnite, and I remember last month him mentioning how he spent 100$ on v-bucks for his birthday and that he hasn't liked any skins thatve come out. Like when I was <16 I only purchased from the cheap 20$ isle at Walmart, I would have fun play the game for 100hrs then in another month probably get another 4yr old $20 game and repeat. I can't fathom spending more than $20 on a f2p game in my totally of playing let alone at a single point.
I can't imagine that cousin will look fondly at spending hundreds of dollars on skins for games in a decade.
The only thing ok is Mario v Rabbits and maybe that aliens thing but only because I like stealth titles really, it looks bland in actual design.
If they take out the fucking overworld in Mario v Rabbits then I'll be happy
When was the last time Ubisoft made games worth playing? The original assassin's creeds were good at the time I guess
Black Flag is my favorite AC game, and it’s because pirating around is pretty darn fun
Asscreed has always had a solid foundation, but absolutely botched execution. I think if they merged the flashy swordplay, escape sequences and acrobatic movement with Hitman-esque social stealth and open-ended missions you would have a winner. Imagine a level with a Medici walking around inspecting a cathedral under construction, and there are a ton of ways to make sure he "accidentally" dies. Maybe have multiple characters where one character is the fighting expert with execution counters and disarms, but can't do the acrobatic stuff - and another who is great at parkour but can't do crowd stealth very well.
Ghost of Tsushima is the best Assassins Creed game and Ubisoft will never top it.
Driver San Francisco in 2011 maybe? I liked Watchdogs 2 quite a bit saying that though.
The Trackmania games are fun, but they might just distribute those.
They bought the Anno devs and actualy managed to not turn it into shit. The latest one is more than good I would definitely recommend for strategy fans. I guess I also have some nostalgia for the Splinter Cell games but that is it.
Probably the only upcoming game that might be interesting.
ubisoft's movie trailers did the impossible: they made me want to see more ubisoft video games
I have no idea why they spun off that horribly boring PVE mode from Siege into it's own game. That mode was garbage.
