I like that the running thread got incorporated into the dailies. I gave up on running - its boring and dont get far enough, so instead picked up roller skating. I think I can enjoy running but much prefer the long drawn out skate ride, or doing something more entertaining in terms of workouts

I've started running this year -- kind of running, anyway. I am 5' 7" and weigh 260 pounds, so the best I can manage for more than a few seconds is more like jogging than running. I've read a few "couch to 5k" guides, and they seemed to suggest starting with running for a minute at a time, walking for a bit, running for another minute, etc. Right now, I'm up to jogging for 8 non-consecutive minutes within a morning 25-minute walk/jog, three times a week.

I have a lot of friends and family who are into running, and I would really like to be able to join them. Also, I've always struggled jogging/running for long periods of time, even when I was a kid, so if I could run, say, a 5K, that would be a big accomplishment for me.

Just recently started running 5ks to get to where I volunteer because the bus suck ATM. I ran a half marathon back in 2019 and planned to do a full in 2020 but obviously that didn't happen. I've stayed in pretty decent cardio shape over the pandemic but not to where I was when I was training regularly with people. It's honestly hard to motivate myself when I don't have groups to run with.

Just finished my first half marathon in West Yellowstone on Saturday and it was a blast minus one challenging hill. Taking a couple days off to recover and relax, then back to it. I think I'll transition to more speed training now that I have some good endurance built up.

I finally found the running thread.

I think the reason I run so often is A ) its a change from my swimming, B ) it gives me a chance to check up on my elderly neighbours down the road in the morning (about 2.5km), and C ) i'm a :sicko-flipped:

Other than that, i don't really have any goals other than to be healthy and active (having tree trunks for legs is cool, though).
