Dems voting to give all the precious pigs participation awards when there was literal footage of them letting protestors through.

"There's too many of them, they had to" yeah right, like that would have mattered otherwise. If they were anything other than conservative mayos (a sizeable chunk of which were pigs themselves), the first few to get too close would have gotten a 'warning magazine' dumped into them. Hell, some of the on duty pigs took pictures with the raging maga's

    So goddamn pathetic

Public goodwill and perception. It's purely a game of theater, to pretend care about the cops, to try and get the public further turned against conservatives.

In order to try and nail someone to the wall in the eyes of the public, you can use martyrs and heroes. So the dems, lacking any actual heroes in this, are propping up the cops because they are supposed to act to protect capital hill (even though most offered nothing more than limp wristed 'nooooo, please don't' to the magas). They even acted like the one cop who died after the riot had heroically died fighting for the building, when he actually just died of perfectly natural causes at home.

That's to say nothing of the massive budget increase for capital police, or having the body of the one killed in service when someone rammed the barricade lie in the rotunda. It's all a show for the public.

I honestly don't think he was wrong to do that. There was nothing he could have done by himself to stop them.

Keeping an eye on them, being a witness, and just trying to talk them out of doing anything too destructive was probably about the best course if action he could reasonably pull off.

I don't understand the temple thing.

There are so many things to hate about this thing, the cop worship, the pointlessness... but the thing the GOP dislike is calling something a temple? IDK that language seems right up their alley.

In this case, it is because the work of government(secular) is being raised to the position of divinity(religious). That is why they are mad. They prefer government be subservient to their version of Christianity, not equal or greater than it.

This is true, but they want christianity superior to the state, not equal or inferior. However, they could probably never implement this in full because there are too many protestant factions for one to ever be the one winner for them.

jesus christ. every day from the founding to at least the end of the Civil War is one of the darkest days in our "democracy". Hell just every day from Bleeding Kansas to the end of the Civil War is a darker day. these childish pricks
