Like these asshats knew damn well that pretty much everyone thinks that their games are ass, so they make these ads featuring fake games that actually looks interesting in order to trick people into thinking that they're downloading a good game.
Capitalism breeds innovation :porky-happy: .
I just wanna play the game with you have to move the rods around to keep the lava from falling on the guy 😔
yeah yeah you moved the rod, got the gold, burned the tiger, etc., whatever, now IT'S TIME TO BUILD YOUR BASE AND ARMY AND HAREMS YOUR MAJESTY
It's also basically impossible to browse the play store because 99% of content is like this.
The only good mobile games are the ones I play on gba or nds emulators lol
There are also some nice ports from PC. Someone here suggested I try Cultist Simulator and it's fucking great.
The most influential game of the 2010s was the mobile game "Clash of Clans", or at least this Jim Sterling video makes that case:

*EDIT: That's a bad thing, btw. I'm basically agreeing with you and adding this.
make these ads featuring fake games
Funny to mention some of those companies actually wholesale steal material from actual games to make their shitty ads.
People burning out of the game industry and doing literally anything else with their lives is good, actually.
I was a CM in the industry for a while. People that haven't worked in it really do not understand that it is actually much worse than it sounds. Like, half these new devs are basically kids. And all the dev studios are based in the middle of fucking nowhere so they have to relocate for their brand new minimum wage job that inevitably forces them to live with colleagues and build their entire life around work because there's literally nothing to do within any reasonable radius of travel. The exploitation and tricks and social engineering around their employees is sophisticated, planned and hellishly harmful to people. There is a reason most burn out in 1-3 years and then go on to a job outside the industry that pays 3-5x more than they were previously earning for exactly the same skills.
Instead of the awesomely unrealistic Atari cover art we got in the past, we get celebrity endorsements and expensive CGI cutscenes. These aren't even real games, they are basically legal gambling.
Shitty low-budget mobile game ads are honestly the only ads I don't mind for some reason
I don't play any of these games but there's honestly something appealing about how shitty they are, like "we can't be assed to even try to make this look that good"
I feel a similar way. I used to click dont show this on every youtube ad, then it started showing me an ad with a picture of some gross gunk at the back of someone's throat. Now if the ad isnt chuddy or gross i just leave it. Quick conspiracy brain: ad platforms show you gross ads on purpose if you continuously click do not show on stuff.
That's why I hit like on reeses adds. They are quiet, slow-moving, and never disgusting.
As was my response to bad licensed games, tiger handhelds and later browser games that aren't Frog Fractions "Why would I care about this crap? There are real video games out there that are fun"
Shit mobile games are so numerous and so institutionalized they you literally can't find good alternatives.
Amongus is the only game I could name off-hand that isn't a re-release of an old title or something that sucks outright.
emulators are functionally the same as re-releases, so he already addressed that.
I can't believe people actually buy or play mobile "games"
Hold on, crapping out an ad-filled monstrosity called Adventure Mercantilist.
