    Isn't Slack's schtick that they keep the chat log permanent? I guess maybe you can delete it, but it's supposed to make it so all the people in the chat can use it as a reference for work discussions.

      Depending on how much the org pays for slack and what they have enabled, workspace owners/admins can see everything including DMs

        Even if you don’t pay for that, it’s still logged. For when you do have the money to pay.

        Nyt is big enough where they would definitely have the version that costs money.

        If people were shit talking someone on the org chart, it probably wasn’t on work software. Or using direct terms.

        Or you know, she is a selfish asshole who sees herself as the main character.

      There's varying degrees of retention periods, but you can absolutely keep those logs for HR purposes and companies often do.
