minus-squareFriendlyDogman [they/them,he/him]hexbear3·4 years agoWas digging around for some info to help put things in perspective and found this: To find atmospheric CO2 levels equivalent to the present, we have to go back 2.5 million years...This was a time when there was far less ice on Earth; the Arctic was apparently 15 to 20°C warmer than it is today, and sea level was about 20 meters higher than the present. I think current estimates are that modern humans arose something like 300,000 years ago, so this is truly an unprecedented challenge for humanity. link
