Gillo Pontecorovo's the Battle of Algiers is pretty great. This video goes over the movie and its influence among revolutionary left-wing groups, e.g. The Black Panthers, as well as its use by repressive forces since then.

It's in french, but just added the english subtitles It will make you hate imperialist even more, what is there not to like?

My AP world history teacher showed us this movie when moved into talking about colonialism, also he “Real Bad Arab” which talked about how Arabs and Muslims in US media as presented to be monsters. Looking back he’s was pretty based and made an emphasis to focus on how historical events effected different classes of people, instead of the rulers.

The scene that really stood out to me was when the French set up the passport checkpoints to get into the European Quarter of the city and all of the Algerians have to go through it, but one of Algerian characters can pass as white French and gets through without a check.
