Seriously! Imagine worshiping the guy who half assed abolishing slavery AFTER he won a civil war about it. It's just like how modern Democrats can run on a campaign of social justice but lose trans and abortion rights anyway. Despite being in control of basically the entire fuckin government

It's always fun to tell liberals that Lincoln was literally by definition a white supremacist.

He did not think black people were equal to white people he just had the relatively progressive belief for the time that they didn't deserve to be slaves because of that.

~85-95% on the white American population were white supremacists, as were all other presidents before and after Lincoln

Not disagreeing with you just saying it's funny to pop liberals bubble.

Also the existence of people like John Brown do a lot to counter the argument it was just the belief at the time. Some people knew it was all horseshit now which is comforting when you feel like the only person who realizes its all horseshit now.

I would love a 60's style cartoon of "John Brown and the Abolitionists."

Just picturing a plantation owner on his knees like it's the end of a Scooby-Doo episode saying "and I would have gotten away with it if it weren't for you meddling kids!" Right before Jason Brown cuts his fucking head off with his dad's broadsword.

i'd have a more moderate opinion of Biden if he had a hole blown in his head a month after Roe got overturned, tbh.

I mean he did literally get shot right when the war ended. If he had lived I'm sure Revonstruction would have gone down a lot differently

For any comrades who have any slight brainworms about thinking Lincoln was good, please read "Black Reconstruction in America" by W.E.B. Du Bois

Sure he was better than what followed, but that's no high bar. He was still working to destroy radical reconstruction and went laughably soft on traitorous states.

He also had a weird fixation with shipping off all these new free people to some Caribbean island because he didn't want to deal with them.

And his party platform was to gradually eliminate slavery by settling western states as free. You know, by genociding the people that lived there.

Another example of liberals making their heroes out to be greater than they were while pretending the radicals that made far more of an effort never existed. FDR gets the same treatment as Lincoln, as well as JFK and LBJ.

I just sorta realized that the US Civil War was within living memory still when Kissinger was born and that this exchange with John Brown is still closer to Kissinger's birth than his death was. Like imagine some kid born today would have a similar distance to Vietnam that he did with the US Civil War.

Reminds me of how Billy the Kid felt more belonging when he was with Mexicans and Native Americans
