I don't understand how things that happened like a year ago get memory holed like this. When Trump got in he deliberately tried to cut any federal resources used to contain hate groups. Then unsurprisingly there was a huge surge in the number hate crimes and the number of hate groups. The reaction to this was then libs shouting to go back to how things used to be because people don't like getting hate crime'd.

They don't need a 4D chess game to expand the police state, they just do it. They don't have to care about the left at all because the left was never intending to do anything about it. Biden's super secret conspiracy theory was to say he wanted to give money to cops and that he supported law and order openly as he campaigned. Then he goes and does it, the politicians left orgs elected help him do it.

Maybe the real reason the army general doesn't want to embrace the right wing CRT hysteria is because almost half the army isn't white and there is no reason to destabilize your own institutions so some bullshit grifter like Tucker Carlson can get another ratings spike. Maybe it's because they already have a huge drop in recruiting and aren't trying to alienate the few educated people who might sign up.

Looking into this, I found a PolitiFact article that I think is actual doublespeak.

      From the conclusion

Buttigieg said, "The Trump Administration cut funding allocated to the Department of Homeland Security to combat white nationalism."

He points to the $10 million Countering Violent Extremism grant program, which was launched under Obama and not renewed under President Trump. It was meant to last for two years. When it expired in July 2019, Trump >did not renew it. That’s not exactly the same as a "cut."

However, a group that was slated to get a grant under Obama, Life After Hate, had its grant rescinded under the Trump administration while the program was going on. The group was one of the only ones with expertise on >white nationalism. Overall, most of the grant proposals were focused on Muslims or immigrants, and not white nationalists.

Buttigieg left out part of the story.

We rate this statement Half True.

Like it says that he DID what he was accused of, then just says that it is proof against the accusations.
