Design-wise the new feathery dinosaurs look so much better than the old scaley nerds.
That doesn't look very scary. More like a six-foot turkey.
Watering holes in arid areas would certainly have seen dense congregations of multiple species, just like they do today. Otherwise density mostly wouldn't have been too crazy; think the Serengeti or Yellowstone.
