it's like.... genuinely mind blowing. your own little matrix. it makes you realize reality doesn't exist, it's just your brain creating it.

brains are crazy

try not to exert too much control on it. like don't look at a tree or house and try to warp reality or anything, it can break the dream. not sure how universal this (or if it's just my weird brain) but i was always able to stay in them the longest if i let the environment do what it wanted and kept the control limited to myself and objects/things i wanted.

A lot of times I don't even do anything when I get lucid, I just stare. It really is mind-blowing how your brain can create such a perfect simulation of reality. Also I've found that if you start focusing on one piece of it, it'll become progressively "higher resolution" until the tree bark you're touching is more real than waking life.

I love doing this but have to really force myself to be able to do anything I can't. Best I can describe is can I convince myself I can do it like lifting up something telekinetically.

It's very cool, but it's also funny realizing it's technically the most useless skill in the world. At least underwater basket weaving you still have a basket!

This is a really useful post for those who already lucid dream, though: https://community.ld4all.com/t/the-master-key/40874

Lots of fun too, helps to keep a dream diary if you really want to get into it. Pretty much anything you can think of in a dream you can do, highly recommend.

I remember when I was a teenager into Persona, I tried calling one during a lucid dream.

I can't remember what it looked like exactly, or what it said, but it was easier and less risky to ask it to do things in my dream instead of doing it myself.

I haven't had a lucid dream in years, but I would like to.

This might be a dumb question, but how do you fly in a lucid dream? I've had lucid dreams before, and tried to will myself to fly, but I wouldn't fly, just jump really high and far.
