    I don't remember much of the film. Like so many people I watched this on a plane and fell asleep before the end. However I seem to remember him killing horribly corrupt politicians. So yeah, Why am I meant to root against him?

      He spends the entire movie trying to expose the corruption of the politicians to the city, and then at the end he decides that the city should drown and be shot lol.
