    FUCKING THEY'RE THE ONES WHO CONTROL HOW MANY NEW DOCTORS THERE ARE!

    Medical Residencies in the US are almost entirely federally funded through CMS and the VA, with the remainder being state matching with federal Medicaid funds. If Congress thinks there aren't enough doctors, they can fund more residencies: they are by far the limiting factor in the number of new doctors.

    This is deliberate enshittification.

    Of course they don't talk about the attempts to deskill the industry by replacing doctors with Physicians Assistants, Nurse Practitioners and just regular nurses
