In the "4Kids" version of the anime, the gun is censored. In fact, all guns in YuGiOh are censored -- like that time when two agents point their "guns" at Kaiba and all you see are their empty hands...
There is also no blood and almost no (if any) references to deaths, it's just censored.
But without their censorship we wouldn't have had amazing moments like the dark energy saws sending you to the shadow realm forever when they touch your ankles, or the duel on the rooftop skylight of a skyscraper where explosives detonate the glass beneath the losers to send them falling through a portal to the shadow realm
I remember someone telling me that getting sent to the shadow realm is way crazier than the watered down 4Kids version makes it out to be
Bandit Keith later on got a job in education and went on to shoot himself in the foot trying to show off cool gun tricks to a class of 8th graders.
