In brutal dictatorial North Korea the citizens have to wade through toxic sewage on their way to work for a city that takes more than half of their paycheck in rent.
Y'all laughed. You all fucking LAUGHED, when I suggested the US switch over to air-boat based public transit. Well who's laughing now?
ME, IM LAUGHING, BUT YOU CAN'T HEAR ME OVER 200 HORSEPOWER OF PROPWASH.
lmao, there's no way the US can match the BRI when they can't even fix shit in one of the richest cities
NYC is broke, it's just the people who live here who are rich. Not even joking. They got rid of all the trash cans on the corners because they couldn't afford to keep emptying them.
And the more gentrification drives out working class folks, the more they'll do shit like electing cops for mayor.
Just to be clear here, Adams actually had a lot of black and brown working class support precisely because the NYPD has decided to no longer police those areas in response to the BLM protests over the summer. Not that Adams being mayor is going to change that, but there is support for "tough on crime" in the communities that have the most crime. And less than 10% of the city even voted in the election, which means Adams himself actually only had the "support" of like 3% of NYC residents.
Jeez you think at a certain point the rich assholes would go "fuck if the infrastructure degrades THIS BADLY it may actually affect me" and begrudgingly volunteer to pay some taxes.
I dont really think its safe, but working class people were forced to make the decision that it was more important to catch the train. Sucks.
Just imagining the arriving at the next station, with 4 feet of water flooding out of the train.

Lady please just stop
Bring back Andy Byford. The man is so dry he would suck up all of this water single-handedly.
@wtypstanaccount04 is this the tunnel from the Andrew Cuomo episode?
