      the US president is the commander in chief. out of all western nations, they arguably know the most as the rest of the world tends to separate the military and the civillian state

          I guess the truth is that we really don't know. they probably trust some presidents more than others. I imagine Bush knew more than Trump that's for sure

          I think they do have that access but that deep state is there to step in and run the machinery of the President is too much of a fuck up. People were genuinely concerned about Trump winning until it became obvious he didn’t give a fuck about running the country so the machine could keep plucking away like he was any other President

      I don't know about "everything," I'm sure there's plenty of stuff that's kept kind of need to know, so even the president would have to articulate to some bureaucrat why they want to look at it, but they probably know the most out of any individual person.

      Plus, they don't just let us vote in anyone. The elections are carefully rigged so that the only people who can possibly "win" are people who don't even pretend to support any popular policies.
