dudes on the bald subreddit made me think that shaving my head would have no effect on my dating life, but nah they are full of shit. being bald really does matter. just cuz girls irl dont make fun of it, doesnt mean they arent thinking about it. omegle really opened my eyes to this fact, but I'm glad I've embraced myself on that website cuz now my skin is tougher and dont really care what people think. cant wait for my foot to heal so I can go out to bars and be a confident mofo
Good on you, sorta jealous of the Patrick Stewart dome. I've got a big fuckin head so I opted for the medicine method to hold onto my hair for as long as possible. I use one of those online services which is 100x better than seeing a dermatologist. It seems to be working.
I was thinking about hopping on finasteride, but I realized it wasnt worth taking a hormone changing drug at a young age. I'm 20 now and still think its too young, and my hair will prob be long gone by 25 so I'm just chilling looking like Mr Clean
I first started it around 20/21 and I wish I stayed on it tbh. For me, the hormonal changes weren't noticeable, I was just always moving and tired of seeing apathetic dermatologists who'd sometimes prescribe me expensive namebrand shit.
The only one of those dumb mail order subscription services I actually like is keeps because I sent a picture of my scalp a couple years ago when I was around 23/24 and I get it sent to me in the mail every three months along with the generic rogain. My hairloss basically slowed to a crawl. Its not coming back but I'm happy with where it is. I've always worn my hair long and I'd look like Oscar Bluth if I let it continue.
I have always really enjoyed having long hair though. Its not a vanity thing so much as I genuinely enjoy and appreciate having hair. I'm married, I don't need to date.
Its a different situation for everyone though and I sometimes wish I could rock a shaved head but I'm also thankful I got on the Fin/rogain when I did.
I would actually kill to have long hair again. My hairline is very receded and never coming back tho. I hope wig technology gets better when I'm older because I dont really care about having short hair, I just rather be unabashedly bald or have long flowing hair
I used to cut my hair about once a year but at this point I haven't had a haircut in over 3 years and I'm having so much fun with it. It's yet to get annoying for me.
Ya that sucks. If it's any consolidation, people that get hung up any bald are not worth a ltr, and you're lucky that they're not wasting your time. Kinda like the double digit number of times I've been unmatched on Tinder after I've mentioned that I don't own a car.
Yeah, it definitely makes you be perceived as older at the very least, if not worse. The best way to get around that is actually getting to know people in person so that they aren't as hung up around physical things, but alas covid. I wish I had better advice, but my strategy was to get into a long term relationship before going bald.
