WON'T ANYONE THINK OF THE 30-50 FERAL HOGS!

Feral hogs are a legitimate problem though and hunting them is better then hunting other species that aren't as invasive.

They also aren't battery farmed, so a feral hog is like one of the more ethical meat sources.

There's going to be a cottage industry rise up around hunting and eating feral hogs isn't there?

It's one of the best things to do with them, honestly. They lack predators in nature and will destroy the environment if left unchecked. They reproduce fast and do a lot of damage overpopulating an area.

There already is an industry around it. Hogs are dangerous so hunting them is sometimes seen as a manly man sort of thing. If there's ever any success in culling their numbers to the point they're no longer an ecological threat there will almost certainly be a push to preserve their number in the name of jobs or something stupid.

No, domestically raised pigs taste different from feral hogs. Their diet is different, their lifestyles are different. If you had any hunters in your family you'd know wild game can have a very particular taste which many people do not like at all. But my money is on you've never eaten a non-farm raised animal, much less ever killed your own food.

Most urban people have no idea where food comes from. It just magically appears at the store and they have no idea the effort it took to get there and no desire to investigate. For people who pride themselves on intellectual curiosity it's one area where their curiosity disappears. Indeed, farmers are looked down upon as people of the soil, an outdated concept we moved on from as a society long ago.

"Unlike you, who pays others to murder, I do all the murdering myself!" Not exactly something to brag about, comrade.

Murder is killing of humans. And yes, if you're going to eat meat, I think you should be forced to kill it yourself. Buying packages from the grocery store in nice styrofoam packages takes all the blood and tendons out of it. When you aim and shoot an animal, and then have to butcher it yourself, getting blood caked all over your hands and accidentally cutting open an intestine and smelling a truck stop bathroom in August, you understand what meat actually means. I think it would be really good for vegetarianism, frankly.

            Only if you're a carnist.

Yeah, it's horrifying and disgusting just like murdering a human would be. Anyone who does it is a piece of shit.

Unnecessarily inflammatory. This is why veganism has such a bad reputation, the moral grandstanding. You could have a lot more friends and get the message across better, but you don't want to. Why? It just feels good to sit high atop Mount Olympus and piss on the plebians for having the temerity to disagree with what you've already decided for them.
