Anyone else watch Historia Civilis? I love the stuff he's done explaining ancient Roman history. I wasn't very interested in history older than like a few hundred years until he explained it in a captivating way. It's all surface level stuff, but it seems like a good introduction for people like me who've never given much thought to the topics he covers.

Anyway, looks like he's going to start a series on closer to contemporary history along with his usual videos.

I don't know much about his own politics, but I hope he isn't a lib or these videos could become real insufferable real fast

I'm genuinely surprised he mentioned the marxist perspective. The 1800s are a time I wish I knew more about, so I hope his later videos go significantly more in-depth

He seems a little lib (informed both on past vids and on this latest one), but he seems to be on the way to getting radicalized.

[QRT of a video of a 17 year old being tased for maybe vaping]

Torturing a child in public for sport. It’s really striking that by the end of these clips there are at least 16 oink oinks on the scene doing “crowd control” for shit that they instigated. Just escalating violence for literally no reason.

Canada actively participated in a genocide up until at least the 1970s, perhaps as late as the 1990s. It's becoming clear that the scope is way worse than previously known (but long suspected.)
