Shopping around for refuge countries, and I'm trying to figure out what living in Ireland is actually like. I'm liking the sound of living in a country with a Marxist-Leninist paramilitary group, but I don't want to actually just be tricked by an "American Dream" but for leftists.

spoiler

To be clear, I'm not trying to join the IRA, but I do want to know if Ireland is a better alternative to staying in the US. World is a fuck.

They're more a cartel nowadays. I'd recommend any number of militia organization operating in Syria currently. Theres obviously the YPG, but they've had some problems lately, especially with the fact that they are effectively at complete peace with Turkey (Bad move imo.).

The best part is, it's completely legal to join these organizations.

Eh, I can't say that peace with Turkey is the most ideologically pure thing to do, but let's be real, it's their only play. Turkey is begging for an excuse to invade (more than they already have) and if that happens, the DFNS is finished.

True, I always forget that Turkey is actually a regional superpower and not just another poor colonized country.

Oh yeah, they've got serious military capability, and they've barely leveraged it so far in the Syrian conflict. Most of the on the ground fighting that has been happening has been by the TFSA because they're far more disposable politically than TAF regulars, but if the SDF upped the ante and started pushing back against Turkish aggression, then that would be all the excuse Erdogan would need to take the kid gloves off and finish them off. The SDF is a good fighting force, but they're light infantry only without any kind of serious AT/AA capabilities.
