Policing cannot right a wrong, only seek retribution, and occasionally prevent future harm. While there are unjust laws (and there always are), police have sworn to use violence to enforce them. There are other things police do too, like police theft and drug use (both of which are crimes in AES states), which cannot be solved through force. link
